First Big Mountain Stop…Telluride, CO

Sunday, February 10th, 2008

So I headed out to the first freeskiing competition of the year this week in Telluride, CO. This was the first time in the three years I have been there that the mountain had good enough snow to ski the lines we all want to ski. After day 1 I was in 4th place going into finals, I decided I wanted to take a little more conservative line my first run and not give up any ground to the field. I laid down a solid first run which put me in 5th place going into the super finals with only one point separating me and 2nd place. I took a tumble right out of the gate and then laid down the best competition run of my life, but the fall was enough to take me out of the competition. This moment was a really tough one to swallow because I had Bluehouse’s and my first podium in sight. The tour’s next stop is Squaw Valley, CA next week and this situation has fueled my fire and I’m ready to stand on that podium this season. See you next week in Squaw!
