Totally want these skis if they are anything close to what they say they are. I live in Wisconsin so powder is nonexistant and the highest ski hill elevation is around 200 feet but back country skiing out west is what I love. I currently ride a pair of 170 Ninthward Butterlicious but want a stiffer ski. If anyone knows how they compare let me know.

Wow, I liked the District you guys were kind enough to lend me last season, but felt it was a little long for me. This 176 with a 108 waist sounds killer for the powder at Niseko!

Not a misprint. In fact we wanted to make the 187 District wider, but decided to use the same mold this year and just stiffen it. We plan to make the 187 a bit wider in years to come.

Shane, the 176 District shows a 108 waist vs 103 for the 187 District. Is that a misprint? Or is the 176 wider?

right on shane! i've got no qualms about the aggressive issue, i've rented a few times since, my issue is just healing quickly (damn broken arm right now won't heal...maybe if i give it more than 3 weeks??) i may just rock a pair of districts in your pre-season sale as i'm sure a day or two on skis and i'll be back in form. rented a few times since those skis, but haven't had the 40+ days on snow years anymore.

nitsuj,

Skis have changed a lot since then. A lot of people moving from skinnier skis will go for a 90ish mm waist first (the MR would be good for that). But if you're aggresive you think you'll progress quickly, you'll eventually want something fatter. For that, I'd say the District would be perfect.

These a decent choice for someone who hasn't been on sticks in years? Used to roll K2 TRComps in 204 length, looking for something to get me back in the hills.
