Monte Cristo Crust Bustin'

Went touring up Little Cottonwood Canyon Friday afternoon of last week.  The skiing wasn't that great.  But the views and a couple of hours of solid aerobic activity made it a perfect late afternoon tour.

Just a heads up to all those who live along the northern Wasatch Front.  This Saturday Bluehouse is holding a demo day at Powder Mountain.  If you already own a pair of Bluehouse Skis, make sure to tell your friends so they can come and try out the skis for free.

We hope to see you there.

Casual Snowcat Fridays

There is only one right way to end the week and that is on a snowcat. Now I just need some rich CEO to back me so I can do this every Friday- This footage is off James Peak at Powder Mountain which can be accessed via a 20 minute hike from one of their $12 snowcat rides. FYI, you're probably going to want to load your Mavens in the side bins as the rear ski rack is too small to hold those beasts.

Loving the EC right now!

Little Superior Not So Little

powstash's picture

Last week was off the hook here in Utah and after missing out on a couple of days of the storm I knew a pink snow ski would be money.

Pink snow at sunrise is a real treat, not to be confused with the evening orange sunset snow or the yellow I just....snow.

In the Wasatch there aren't many better places to make the most of your morning sunrise pink snow than on Little Superior.

After an early rise and a furious pace to get to the top of Little Superior last Thursday, we waited a few minutes for the sun to peak over the distant range.  The wait was worth it and my Districts were the money ski, despite being the skinniest of the bunch.

Travel Buddy Request

jared's picture

So Caitlin just had a friend bail at the last minute who was supposed to accompany her to Taos, NM for an on snow demo event Bluehouse will be participating in on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.  Bluehouse is now seeking a travel buddy for Caitlin so she won't have to travel alone.  If you would be interested in leaving from Salt Lake City, Utah to Taos, NM on Tuesday (tomorrow) or would like to meetup "en route" for an all expenses paid ski trip give me a call at 801.232.5367 or email me at jared@bluehouseskis.com.

Thanks,

Jared

Forgot to post these last week

Last week was filled with variety--and I'm still smiling.  Went strolling for chutes one day, skiied with the Bluehouse Dawn Patrol on Valentines, taught a friend how to skin, and spent a day at Solitude with the fam.  That's what's skiing is all about: getting outside and enjoying good company.  Below are a few shots of last week's adventures.
