Favorite Quote: "Our battered suitcases were piled on the sidewalk again; we had longer ways to go. But no matter, the road is life." (Jack Kerouac)

My Dad travelled the world as a professional ski bum long before he had me; so needless to say, my parents got me on the
slopes at a very young age. Before I can remember, all I ever wanted to do was ski; and when other kids aspired to become
astronauts or firemen, I simply wanted to be a skier. I spent a lot of my earlier years on race and freestyle teams, and I credit
a lot of my fundamentals to some really great coaches and mentors that I was fortunate enough to ride with. However, my
inherent drive for skiing has always been centralized on the backcountry; and the the recent years I've found myself happiest
shredding powder around my childhood hometown in SW Colorado, and my new stomping grounds in the NW.
Why do you ski?
I simply love being a part of the mountains, and whether you're out there for the first time or are a beard sporting mountain-
man; a skier, snowboarder, or snow-shoe enthusiast; young or old... I feel that everyone can experience the same basic joy
of having a blast surrounded by good people in a great place! Moreover, I find that in the same way one can express raw
emotions through art and music, one can also find this release of creativity by using the natural terrain of the mountain as a
canvas and your skis as the brush.
What's your favorite day of skiing like?
I'm a pretty cheap date when it comes skiing, and can have a damned good time any old day; however, nothing beats getting
out into the back-country on a crisp deep day and shredding with a good group of friends.
What are some of your other hobbies?
I am quick to find myself infatuated with any form of art, and when I'm not day-dreaming of powdery slopes, I am
immersed in pursuits of cinematography, video editing, and photography. In the same way that I enjoy being among the
beauty of nature, or the vibrant energy of a foreign city; I strive to capture those moments and emotions, so that I may bring
them to a wider audience and later re-live them myself.
How do you pass the time?
I would likely be a productive member of society if it weren't for cat-videos on the internet, free music shows, cheap plane
tickets, and fun times!
